Welcome to Project U First Inc.
Project U First Inc. supports some of the most vulnerable members of our community by providing them with basic hygiene products most of us take for granted.
Since our inception in 2014, we have distributed more than 1 million hygiene kits, 300,000 blankets, and 225,000 pairs of socks to homeless shelters, foster homes, and schools in low-income areas. These items are inexpensive, but to a homeless person, or a child living in poverty, they’re an important step on the path toward dignity.

History
After witnessing a woman washing her hair under a bridge, Erica Wright understood – perhaps for the first time – how the homeless lack even the simplest products to stay clean and healthy. Products most of us take for granted. Not long afterward, Erica became more than a witness. She became homeless herself.
This started Erica's amazing journey. She lacked money, credit, or a plan, but with God’s help, and her own passion, she went from darkness into light.
In just 6 years, Project U First Inc., founded by this amazing woman, provided more than 400,000 homeless individuals and families with basic hygiene products, helping them return to a place of dignity and self-respect.
This year, Project U First is helping students attending low-income, Atlanta-area schools learn without the fear of being bullied for their appearance, thanks to Hygiene Closets stocked with soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and other necessities.
We’ve been recognized on numerous TV and radio broadcasts for distributing more than 85,000 hygiene kits and “LOVE Bags” to the homeless, and other vulnerable individuals in 19 different states, including California and New York.

Speaking Engagements
Erica Wright is a passionate speaker on topics related to homelessness, and perseverance in the face of adversity. For a small fee – 100% of which goes to support Project U First’s activities – Erica can deliver her message of love, hope, and support to your organization.
